Here are some of my favorite nautical symbols (all found in the book mentioned in my last post). Each represents something that might be found on or near the ocean…you know like bouys, mosques, buddhist temples, factories, mines, and the like. There is literally a symbol for almost anything. I’m interested in reworking these symbols into new configurations. I like to imagine what they might mean to a salty fisherman coming in to the harbor. See what I mean after the jump.
